CBSE · List of Candidates (LOC)
The LOC is only as right as your records.
The CBSE List of Candidates registers each Class X and XII child for the board exam — name, date of birth, subjects, photo. Every field has to match the record exactly, because fixing it after submission is the painful part.
- 01
Name & DOB, exactly
The LOC name and date of birth become the certificate name and DOB — a typo here follows the child for life and is hard to correct later.
- 02
Subjects per student
Each candidate is registered against a specific subject combination, with electives and additional subjects mapped correctly.
- 03
Board-standard photos
A recent, correctly formatted photograph per candidate, attached to the right student.
- 04
The full Class X / XII cohort
Every eligible candidate has to be on the list — none missed, none double-entered, reconciled to your own enrolment.
Mapped to modules that already run.

01 / 05
The exact name and DOB live in the SIS. Student records hold the name and date of birth as one source of truth across sessions and years, so the LOC reads from a field that's already been checked, not re-typed.

Photos attached to the right child. Each candidate's photograph sits on their own record — so the photo on the list is unmistakably the right student, in one place.

Subjects mapped per candidate. Compulsory subjects flow down from the class and each child's elective is set per student — the real subject combination, exportable to PDF, Excel or CSV, not a separate guess at exam time.
Academics -
04 / 05
Reconcile against the real cohort. Strength by class and section resolves from the academic record, so the candidate count is the real Class X / XII cohort — countable and reconcilable, with no one missed and no one entered twice.

Custom fields for board specifics. Father's and mother's name, mother tongue and the other LOC fields are held as structured custom fields, session-scoped to the student.

An honest note
ScholaRise helps you assemble and export the data the List of Candidates requires. We are not affiliated with CBSE and do not submit the LOC on your behalf — the entry into the board portal, and responsibility for its accuracy, remain the school's.
