The hard part of attendance isn't marking it — it's keeping it correct.

• The class register

  A class teacher opens today's roster and marks Present, Absent, Half-day or Leave down the list — keyboard shortcuts, a reason per row, and one tap to mark the whole class present except the few who aren't.

• Staff biometric & geo-fence

  Staff mark in and out against a registered location: the app checks distance to the campus and refuses a punch outside the allowed radius — and biometric devices feed the same record, so the desk and the door agree.

• Location windows

  Each campus defines its own marking windows — start and end time, the weekdays they run, a late-marking grace, and date ranges for summer or winter timings — with priority when more than one applies.

• Holidays, done properly

  Full-day, half-day or a date range; recurring or one-off; for everyone or just selected classes, students or staff. On a holiday the register locks itself, so nobody marks a day that doesn't exist.

• Backdated edits

  Yesterday's missed register isn't lost. Within an administrator-set window, staff and student attendance can be entered or corrected for a past date — and every edit records who changed it and when.

• Bulk import

  Migrating from a biometric vendor or a spreadsheet? Upload a CSV keyed by admission number — P, A, L, HD across a row of dates — and the importer matches each student, then reports exactly what was inserted and what was skipped.

• Live dashboards & trends

  Present rate, absentees flagged, unmarked classes and late arrivals — computed in the database, not by counting rows in the browser — alongside a thirty-day trend of staff against students.

• Patterns & absentees

  A session-to-date heatmap per class, the chronic-absentee list, a late-arrival leaderboard and the day-of-week pattern — so a rising absence is something you see in March, not something you discover in May.

• 01 / 04

  Keyed to the session and the academic record, never to a student and a date alone. A child who moved sections — or repeated a year — keeps each year's register its own, so a promotion never overwrites last year's attendance.

• 02 / 04

  Kept inside one branch. Class lists, rates and reports resolve a student's branch through the academic record, so a multi-campus trust never sees one campus's attendance leak into another's numbers.

• 03 / 04

  One ledger the rest of the platform reads. The same per-day record the school marks becomes the loss-of-pay line on a payslip and the day a parent sees on their phone — entered once, not re-keyed into payroll and the parent app.

• 04 / 04

  On web, iOS and Android — and within Sol's reach. A teacher marks the register from a phone; an administrator watches the day's rate from the desk. The same assistant that answers questions across the school can be asked who's absent today — not a fourth tool to learn.
