A boarding school's duty of care doesn't stop at the infirmary door.
Why we're building it
Health & infirmary already ships — the clinic visit, the medication, the incident, held against the student record. But for a residential school the day doesn't end when the clinic closes. Who sleeps in which bed, what the mess will cook tonight, whether every name is back behind the gate before lights-out — today that lives in a register, a WhatsApp group and a warden's memory. We're building the residential half to sit beside the medical one, on the same record, so a boarder is one student with one history — not a name copied across three books that never quite agree.
-
Room & bed allocation
We're building allocation by block, room and individual bed — so a boarder has a named place, a room shows who's in it, and a swap is one move, not a re-typed list.
-
Block & wing layout
Blocks, wings and floors modelled the way the hostel actually stands — capacity and occupancy visible per block, so a full wing is obvious before the next admission, not after.
-
Mess & meal plans
Meal plans per boarder with dietary flags — vegetarian, non-vegetarian, allergy and special diet — so the kitchen will cook to a real count for each sitting, not a guess.
-
Night roll-call & headcount
A structured night roll-call: present, away on approved leave, or unaccounted — counted against the allocation, so the warden's headcount is a record, not a recollection.
-
Leave & gate-pass
Leave and gate-passes for boarders with parental approval and an out-time and expected return — so a name off the headcount has a reason and an authority behind it.
-
Warden duty roster
A duty roster across wardens and shifts — who is on tonight, who covers the early morning — so accountability for a block is assigned, not assumed.
-
Visitor & out-pass log
A guarded log of visitors and outings at the gate — who came, who left, when each is due back — kept beside the allocation so the gate and the register agree.
-
Boarder-linked records
Every entry hangs off the same student the school already keeps — so a boarder's room, mess plan and roll-call sit beside their health, attendance and fees, not in a separate ledger.
-
01 / 04
Scoped by campus and session, like everything else. A multi-campus trust will keep each campus's blocks its own; allocation and headcount will live in the active academic session, so last year's roll-call stays last year's.
-
02 / 04
Built on the boarder you already keep. Rooms, mess plans and roll-call will hang off the same student record as health, attendance and fees — one boarder, one history, not a parallel hostel ledger to reconcile.
-
03 / 04
On the same web, iOS and Android apps. The warden will take the night roll-call from a phone in the corridor; the office will allocate a bed from the desk. No separate boarding login to issue and forget.
-
04 / 04
Within reach of Sol, the AI agent. The assistant that answers across the school will sit over the hostel too — a quiet way to ask who's unaccounted tonight or which block is full, not a fifth tool to learn.
Where this is going
When the warden counts the corridor tonight, the count should already be a record. That's the boarding school we're building for.
